Configure connections and secrets

Connections let a workload use an approved external service. Secrets hold the credentials needed to authenticate to that service.

Before you start

Select the correct workspace and environment. You need permission to manage the connection or secret, an approved integration definition, and credentials supplied through your organization’s approved process.

Prepare a connection

  1. Open Connect → Secrets if the integration needs a credential that is not already available. Use the creation action shown and enter the required name and value.
  2. Open Connect → Connections and select New Connection.
  3. Choose the connection definition and version.
  4. Enter the required configuration and bind the secret names to their required slots.
  5. Save the connection and review its status.
  6. If the saved connection offers Test connection, run it and review the result.

Completing the required fields does not by itself prove that the external service is reachable or that the credentials are valid. The available test depends on the connection definition.

Check the result

Confirm the saved connection’s workspace and environment, required configuration, and credential bindings. Review any test result before attaching it to the intended workload configuration.

Handle credentials carefully

Secret values are masked. Reveal is available only with the appropriate permission and is temporary. Use it only when needed and avoid copying credentials into screenshots, support messages, flow content, or documentation. A connection test should not require you to expose the secret value to another user.
